Join us for our first webinar of the series - Enhancing Tribal Partnerships
Native American tribes have been successfully stewarding natural resources since time immemorial and continue to provide leadership in forest restoration and ecosystem management today. Partnering with Sovereign Tribal Nations increases the pace and scale of restoration and helps to sustain the cultural and public beneficial uses of natural resources and ecosystem services for all communities.
This all-tribal panel, convened by Lomakatsi’s Tribal Partnership Program, explores best practices, tools, and mechanisms for engaging with Tribal Nations and tribal communities in landscape-scale restoration initiatives. These leaders bring expertise in legal practices, natural resource management, tribal government and trust responsibility, eco-cultural restoration, and indigenous fire knowledge.
Panelists will share success stories of collaboration between tribes, agencies, and non-profit organizations—exploring legal mechanisms, co-investment strategies, multi-party monitoring, workforce development, prescribed fire, and capacity building. Participants will gain foundational knowledge in cultural agility, navigating intergovernmental affairs coordination, developing formal protocols and agreements, and utilizing best practices for creating successful partnerships, programs, and projects with tribes.
This session is co-sponsored by Lomkatsi Restoration Project and the Tribal Ecosystem Restoration Partnership Program
