Douglas County: Making Energy Work for Rural Oregon

You are invited to help Douglas County create its own energy future.

This workshop is part of a series of six energy workshops taking place across Oregon that is designed to help rural communities identify energy savings and energy generation opportunities, and invest in local energy programs and projects.

Workshops are co-hosted by Sustainable NorthwestLake County Resources Initiative, and Wallowa Resources. The Douglas County workshop is being developed in collaboration with Douglas County Smart Energy. The Douglas County Smart Energy group consists of the United Community Action NetworkNeighborWorks UmpquaDouglas Electric CooperativeAvista UtilitiesEnergy Trust of Oregon, and Pacific Power. Participants will learn about successful projects using energy efficient technologies and solar, and will help identify what type of opportunities are available to help Douglas County move forward in meeting its energy independence goals.

Who attends the workshops?

Douglas County community leaders, county and city officials, business leaders and those interested in helping Douglas County pursue an economically vital, energy independent future.
