Alex grew up in the Upper Klamath Basin along the Sprague River, ranching cattle as a fourth-generation and seventh-generation cattle rancher in Southern Oregon.

She attended Oregon State University and Eastern Oregon University, where she earned a bachelor's in Agricultural Science with a focus on fisheries and wildlife management. She lives in the Klamath Basin, where she ranches and helps her neighbors become more resilient.

In her free time, she is a volunteer Little League Baseball coach, western and wildlife photographer, and avid reader.

Here is a photo Alex took of her dad, Richard, on his mare, Zip, with his dogs checking a small bunch of cows and calves on our summer turnout.
