Live Edge Virtual Landing Page

October is just around the corner, and with that comes Live Edge! Our biggest fundraiser of the year is back in a virtual format. Because this is our first year hosting Live Edge virtually, we wanted to take the time to answer some of your most common questions below.

What is Live Edge?

Live Edge is our auction fundraiser gala, where you get to learn about the latest happenings in our Clean Energy, Forest, Green Markets, and Water programs; bid on auction packages; support Sustainable Northwest during the special appeal; hear a keynote talk from Peter Brannen, an award-winning science journalist and author; and connect with other supporters of Sustainable Northwest’s work from around the region. We will miss seeing you in person this year, but we have a dynamic livestreamed program we are sure you’re going to like --- check out our gala landing page here!

What is the program this year?

We have taken the opportunity this year to really showcase our work around the region through video storytelling. The program will consist of:

  • Pre-show slideshow, including bidding how-tos (5:30pm – 6:00pm)

  • Highlights of our Clean Energy, Forest, Green Markets, and Water programs (6:00pm)

  • In-depth focus on our decades-long work with partners in the Klamath Basin to complete the largest dam removal and watershed restoration project in U.S. history, now slated for 2023 (6:10pm)

  • Special appeal to support Sustainable Northwest (6:15pm)

  • Auction item highlights, including: salmon fishing in Canada; whale watching in the San Juan Islands; a relaxing vacation in an ecolodge on Mexico’s Pacific Coast; ranch stay and two days of guided fishing in the Klamath Basin’s spectacular Wood River Valley; a getaway (or staycation) in Portland, complete with baking supplies; five nights in an ocean-facing suite in Los Cabos; a wine tasting in the hills of Oregon Wine Country; a trip to the Alps by way of Leavenworth, Washington; a rain barrel hand-painted with the scenes of the landscapes where Sustainable Northwest works; and more (6:25pm)

  • A raffle drawing for a fall luxury hotel getaway vacation (raffle tickets are $100 each) (6:35pm)

  • Keynote talk from Peter Brannen, an award-winning science journalist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Wired, Aeon, The Boston Globe, Slate and The Guardian among other publications. His 2017 book The Ends of the World, about the five major mass extinctions in Earth's history, was selected as a Forbes Top 10 Best Environment, Climate, and Conservation Book (6:40pm)

We are excited to welcome Dale Johannes of Artisan Auctions and our President Greg Block as auctioneer and emcee, respectively, who will be leading the show live from the Hancock Studio.

What happens if I have technical issues?

If you have any issues with technology night of, you can contact 971-275-5690 via phone or text. This number is also listed near the top of the Live Edge landing page.

What if I can’t make the livestream --- will it be recorded?

When will the auction close?
