Building with Climate-Smart Wood

Building with Climate-Smart Wood

Join a coalition of nonprofit and for-profit partners launching an ambitious climate-smart forestry initiative. This effort connects the construction industry with landowners taking action to improve forest health, climate resilience, and carbon storage in wood products.

Tickets are free. Complementary drinks and appetizers are provided. Food truck on site.

This event will be held at the Sustainable Northwest Wood Warehouse (2701 SE 14th Ave), two miles south of the Oregon Convention Center.

Date: Wed March 27.

Time: Doors open 5:30 pm. Program 6:30-7. Networking until 9 pm.

The program will introduce you to recent mass timber projects built with climate-smart wood in Oregon and Washington -- including the Portland Airport's mass timber roof, Redmond Senior Center, Meyer Memorial Trust headquarters, affordable housing projects, Oregon State University's Ray Hall, and more.

You won't want to miss this opportunity to meet industry experts helping ensure the mass timber movement also contributes to healthier forests, climate, and communities.

Sustainable Northwest Wood Warehouse can be reached by taxi, car (street parking is available), Max Orange Line, or Bus #19 coming straight from the Oregon Convention Center (for help with planning a trip on transit, visit https://trimet.org/home/planner).
