Making Energy Work Quarterly Webinar: Energy Resilience in Rural Communities

Making Energy Work Quarterly Webinar: Energy Resilience in Rural Communities

REGISTER HERE

Our third webinar of the year will dive into various topics related to energy resilience for rural communities, including what newly passed resilience legislation means for our communities and how resilience hubs can provide security during unpredictable disruptions from climate disasters.

Maeve Hogan with Rogue Climate will share a case study from Talent, Oregon that explores how two local schools are using solar + storage to build a community resilience hub. Maeve has dedicated the last two years to learning how communities can build resilience hubs. She will dive into what communities can do to become more energy resilient, look at lessons from the resilience hub in Talent, and connect attendees with resources for advocating for energy resilience in their communities.

Ana Molina, Advocacy and Systems Director at Oregon Just Transition Alliance (OJTA), will take a look at the new community resilience hubs legislation and discuss what this bill means for communities and how it can help ensure communities are energy resilient in the face of increasing climate disasters.

Bridget Callahan, Energy Program Director at Sustainable Northwest, will be joining us to discuss the county resilience planning legislation that was passed this session, which established $2M in grants for counties to develop their own energy resilience plans.

We will also have a special introduction from Sarah Moehrke, Oregon Department of Energy's new Community Navigator, who is working to aid communities in accessing funding opportunities to achieve their local energy goals.

Please register for the event below. We hope you can join us!
