Sustainable Northwest is hosting the 8th Annual Fall Energy Symposium on November 2-3 in Benton County, OR. This two-day event will bring together rural energy leaders from across the state for engaging field tours, panel presentations, and networking receptions.

Benton County, home to Oregon State University, is known for its local innovation, entrepreneurship, and thriving agriculture. The area also has a growing clean energy economy that we will showcase during this year's energy symposium.

This year’s panel presentations include:

  • Policy Roundtable – Emerging federal and state energy policies | An overview of how Oregon is preparing for new investments and policies (featuring Oregon State Representative Marsh)

  • Panel 1: Unpacking the Inflation Reduction Act one year in | How are we doing?

  • Panel 2: Community Energy Resilience | What will it take to get microgrids, storage, and resilience planning at scale?

  • Panel 3: The Future of Farming | Best practices and innovations for energy, water, and working lands management

  • Panel 4: Siting Renewable Energy in Oregon | Mitigating conflict and driving shared solutions

Other highlights:

  • Oregon State University Clean Energy Tour -- featuring two world-renowned energy labs:

    • The Wallace Energy Systems and Renewables Facility is the best-equipped Energy Systems laboratory in any university in the US. The lab has worked on Ocean Wave Energy Extraction, Wind Generation Systems, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, and more.

    • The Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory provides outstanding research and testing at the largest nearshore experimental facility at an academic institution in the US. One project includes developing innovative solutions to convert the motion of waves into a source of sustainable energy.

  • An evening networking reception with regional experts and clean energy drivers.

  • Resources and funding to advance your clean energy projects.

The full agenda is available here and will be updated periodically.
