Restoring Balance in the Klamath Basin

Partners in the Klamath Basin – an area the size of Switzerland spanning the Oregon/California border, and home to what was once among the nation’s largest salmon fisheries – are preparing for the world’s largest dam removal project. To get ready, they’ve been gathering and propagating seeds since 2019. They’ll need around 17 billion; they have 11 billion so far.

But that’s not all. Learn in this new short film titled Restoring Balance about how Resource Environmental Solutions is working with the Yurok, Karuk and Klamath Tribes to monitor water quality, protect fish, and prepare for the largest dam removal project in history, restoring 2,200 acres of land, bringing back salmon for Tribes and local economies, and helping the river be a river once more.
